Devi Sthuthi

This is the DEVI STUTHI as taken from a web site (http://www.eaisai.com/baba/docs/sldevi.html) but modified as sung on the Ye Devi CD from Isha foundation. The way it is sung is simply amazing with the pitch and beats picking up every 4 stanzas. It just melts me everytime I listen to it. :)

Wonderfully energizing song. I do not know if all the meanings on the site are authentic, but this is what is given:

Chetana - Consciousness
Buddhi - Intelligence
Nidhra - Sleep
Kshuda - Hunger
Chaya - [appearance] reflection
Trishna - [Desire] thirst
Kshanthi - [patience] forgiveness
Jati - [All living beings] race
Lajja - [Humility] modesty
Shanthi - Peace
Shraddha - Faith
Kaanthi - beauty with love
Vritti - Action
Smrithi - Memory
Tushti - Contentment
Braanti - [our mistakes] illusion
Matru - Mother
Dayaa - Compassion
Shakthi - Energy

Most of them are so close anyway that they could be interchanged depending on the context.
